Hello again, so I think I’ve said this before…. but I am now ramping up the hours to re-certify! Roll on October. It’s April in good ol England and this means loads and loads of bank holidays. What better way to spend these than flying eh? Apart from maybe a post flight drink and BBQ?
This last flight it gave me great pleasure to share the wonder of flight with another first-timer. Someone who had never gone up in a small plane before and to say that he enjoyed it was an understatement. The only issue I think with this last flight has got to be the weather, it was sunny hot and pretty much zero cloud or wind… “Perfect flying weather” you may say…. but you would be wrong this time. Because of the heat and the lack of wind there was a pretty big build-up of haze which at first glance and on the ground did not look too bad however once in the air completely different story. On a day which should have been all the 9′s it was very disappointing to get to 2400ft and find vis as low as 8km. Not fun, flying into the sun was terrible so scuppered our hopes of flying down to the coast as it would have surely meant flying into sun all the way. We opted for a little local flight to the NW of Blackbushe. Compton, Newbury, Membury, Greenham Common etc. The flight was great my passengers Dewi and Stuart appeared to enjoy themselves too. Always a bonus! The flight was rather uneventful barring the weather of course, and we landed back safe at Blackbushe about an hour later.
Stuart kindly did a fantastic job of editing all his iphone footage and compiled the below (thanks Stuart)… enjoy
Until next time.. Adios!
